We are seeking a Procurement Manager to spearhead and enhance our sourcing capabilities while overseeing all operational facets of the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adopt a proactive approach while managing the workload of team members, initially working independently with plans for future administrative support.
- Align with the business's Quality Management System, emphasizing continuous improvement across the organization and its properties.
- Formulate, execute, and consistently refine purchasing strategies.
- Maintain positive supplier relationships and manage the supplier database, purchase records, and relevant documentation.
- Oversee ERP system purchase requirements for ongoing projects and coordinate inventory control to assess and manage inventory needs.
- Explore the establishment of supplier frameworks.
- Conduct market research to identify optimal products and suppliers based on value, delivery timelines, and quality.
- Facilitate tender processes, assess bids, and provide recommendations based on commercial and technical criteria.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Monitor the status of all active purchase orders and assist the team with expediting as necessary.
- Communicate updates on procurement activities to key stakeholders.
- Train new hires and junior team members on the purchasing process and system usage.
- Develop strategies to achieve cost savings and enhance supplier performance.
- Manage supplier communications regarding non-conforming goods.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement supervisory or managerial role.
- Background in the Facilities Management industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Experience in managing bids and tenders.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and a solid understanding of material specifications and components.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Possession of a full, current driving license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience within a facilities and construction environment, focusing on facilities management contracts.
- Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) for project management and cost analysis.
- Basic knowledge of Hard FM and Soft FM services.
- Familiarity with Yardi software is a plus.
