Group Finance Director Opportunity
The Forest Garden Group, a leading manufacturer and distributor of garden timber products, is seeking a highly experienced Group Finance Director to lead its finance team and drive the company's financial vision forward.
About the Role
- Lead and inspire the Group Finance team to achieve overall finance objectives and drive the company's financial vision forward.
- Work closely with the Group Chief Executive, Chairman, and other stakeholders on Group Development planning, providing financial modelling and strategic input.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting that supports business decision-making and meets UK statutory requirements (PAYE, VAT, etc.).
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts for each Business Unit and ensure accurate Group consolidation.
- Provide robust cashflow forecasting and minimise tax risks through compliance and an effective tax strategy.
- Continually review and enhance financial accounting processes to ensure they are robust, streamlined, and reflect best practice.
- Work closely with operational managers to balance business support with budgetary discipline, ensuring financial processes are well-documented and appraised.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within a similar turnover company.
- Extensive experience and contemporary knowledge of accounting principles, including UK GAAP and IFRS.
- High competence in managing cashflow and treasury operations.
- Exposure to UK tax and VAT returns, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements.
- Excellent communicator, capable of building strong relationships both internally and externally.
- Highly IT literate, with deep experience using leading accounting software, MS Office, and ERP systems.
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a deep understanding of accounting principles, including UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK statutory requirements.
