About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager to join our team in Chester. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality audits for a varied portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior team members to ensure expectations, deadlines, and budgets are met
  • Prepare tax computations, including tax returns and tax liabilities
  • Provide trusted advisory and strong technical tax knowledge to clients
  • Lead, manage, and develop the team, acting as a role model for junior staff
  • Deliver training and champion knowledge sharing across the team

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified or QBE with preferably a minimum of three years' post qualification experience
  • A proven track record of supervisory and managerial experience, as well as working with clients within practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Working knowledge of accounting software
  • Strong communication and advisory skills
  • Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and able to manage a team's workflow
  • A team player and approachable leader who is able to bring out the best in others
  • Confidently mentor junior team members in a positive and constructive manner
