Advanced Sonography Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced sonography services at a level above that expected of a Band 7 sonographer. This will involve ensuring effective patient treatment and diagnosis, as well as operational standards to deliver a progressive service.
Main Responsibilities- Line manage the service in the absence of the Superintendent Sonographer, IDAs, and support staff, including aspects of recruitment, appraisal, CPD, and performance management.
- Organize and prioritize workload in the Imaging Department, taking into account service demands, and lead, supervise, support, and ensure appropriate training for all relevant staff.
- Assist in the identification, design, planning, and procurement of new equipment, ensuring positive liaison between all stakeholders during the installation process.
- Contribute to the maintenance and monitoring of imaging standards in conjunction with the Imaging Quality Manager and Superintendent Sonographer.
- Develop and implement U/S protocols, lead on research and development, and participate in expanded practice.
- Promote service and imaging quality standards, and lead on clinical audit.
- Provide a highly specialized ultrasound scanning service, such as interventional procedures or advanced clinical practice.
