Lead DevOps Engineer

Head Resourcing is partnering with a leading retail bank to find a skilled DevOps Engineer for their dynamic team in London. This hybrid role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on technical work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers, guiding and mentoring them in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
  • Collaborate on building resilient, distributed systems on public cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure and GCP
  • Drive architectural simplicity and operational excellence through automation and scaling cloud services
  • Author and maintain Helm charts, leveraging Helmfile to manage deployments
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools, including Azure DevOps, Terraform, and ARM Templates
  • Experience in Chaos Engineering, implementing resiliency strategies, and leading disaster recovery planning
  • Hands-on experience managing network layers (L3-L7), DNS, and public key infrastructure (PKI)
Requirements
  • A strong background in SRE or DevOps, with experience in providing in-depth mentorship and technical leadership
  • Proficiency in at least two programming or scripting languages, such as Python, Java, Bash, Go, or PowerShell
  • Strong expertise in DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus, and Git
