Chelmsford, Essex, United Kingdom Essex County Council Full time

This is a fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity for a duration of 12 months.

In collaboration with the statutory Essex Safeguarding Adults Board (ESAB), hosted by one of their statutory partners, Adult Social Care, this position is pivotal in delivering and managing projects aimed at integrating insights from Safeguarding Adult Reviews. The role emphasizes a family-centered approach and enhances the visibility of transitional safeguarding for adults within Essex. This is a dynamic and high-profile position that requires close cooperation with ESAB partners throughout Essex.

The ESAB Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of learnings derived from completed Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs). This includes identifying and establishing processes for a Whole Family Approach and the Transitional Safeguarding processes across the ESAB multi-agency partnership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strengthening partners' capabilities to effectively direct individuals and referrers to appropriate support resources, ensuring a cohesive understanding among partners.
  • Identifying gaps in access to information and support for individuals with care needs, including gathering feedback from those with lived experiences and underrepresented groups, while promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
  • Ensuring that all information related to SAR Action Plan outcomes is evidence-based and accountable.
  • Assessing how practice improvements and learnings from SAR outcomes are integrated within organizations.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • A degree or equivalent experience, demonstrating ongoing professional development and strong expertise in the relevant field.
  • Proven experience in project management, along with the ability to review, compile, and interpret complex information.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating, administering, and documenting complex multi-agency meetings.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and workloads to meet strict deadlines.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive and distressing information with professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of relevant guidelines and legislation pertaining to multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
  • Assertiveness and confidence in engaging with senior officers across various organizations to obtain necessary information.
  • Ability to independently determine appropriate actions in response to inquiries and provide clear, concise information.

Essex County Council is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applications from individuals with disabilities and veterans who meet the minimum requirements for the role.

Essex County Council prioritizes safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, expecting all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
