Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at the North Camden Recovery & Rehabilitation Team, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with severe mental illness in Camden.
The North Camden Recovery Team is part of the care pathway for patients in HoNOS care clusters 11, 12, and 13, focusing on patients with psychotic illnesses. You will work alongside another consultant, jointly leading the team and providing cross-cover when required. Your responsibilities will include assessing new referrals, reviewing patients, advising on their care, and contributing to risk assessment and management.
This is a substantive position for 10 Programmed Activities, with 7.5 Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 Supporting Professional Activities. You will be expected to support and contribute to the team's innovative service development, Quality Improvement, and service evaluation and research activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with severe mental illness
- Assess new referrals and review patients to advise on their care
- Contribute to risk assessment and management
- Participate in CPA reviews and provide Consultant input into team meetings
- Support and contribute to service development, Quality Improvement, and research activities
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility)
- Registered with Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing
- Shared Services training up to date to be an approved trainer/clinical supervisor
- Other relevant post-graduate qualification (incl. those gained outside UK)
- Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust offers a competitive salary of £105,504 to £139,882 per year, plus £2,162 of London Zone Weighting per year.
