About the Role

Bury College is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as an Exam Access Arrangement Tutor. This is a full-time opportunity that requires a strong commitment to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to support applications for Exam Access Arrangements and establish each student's normal way of working.
  • Liaise with course teams to provide support for teachers and assist with activities that promote integration of Additional Learning Support (ALS) into curriculum.
  • Undertake psychometric testing to support students with SEND and EHCPs from a range of courses across college.
  • Maintain accurate records on relevant college systems and support course teams to complete challenging Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
Requirements
  • Recognised postgraduate qualification in Individual Specialist Assessment/SPLD Level 7 for Exam Access Arrangements or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in the post-16 setting, planning, and delivering ALS covering a range of disciplines: English, Maths, ESOL, SLDD, SpLD, MLD, etc.
  • Proven background of working with young adults with additional needs, target-setting, and recording progress of students.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and hold a full teaching qualification or professional recognition in learning and skills.
