Job Title: Lead Product Strategist - Travel Ancillaries

Role Overview:

At Booking, we recognize that travel serves as a powerful connector among people and cultures, fostering understanding and breaking down barriers. Our goal is to simplify the process for everyone to explore the world. We achieve this by enabling seamless trip bookings.

A journey often begins with a flight. The Flights team is dedicated to providing a broad array of flight options, exceptional value, and a streamlined booking experience from start to finish. The inclusion of appropriate ancillary services—such as seat selection, additional baggage, travel insurance, and flexible ticket options—can significantly enhance our customers' travel experience.

We are seeking a Lead Product Strategist to join our Flights Core Customer Journey product group and oversee one of our Ancillary teams (New Integrations). In this role, you will collaborate with external partners to broaden our ancillary offerings, launching innovative products that enrich our customers' flight experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a product team, defining both short-term and long-term roadmaps for the product area, establishing goals and success metrics. Clearly articulate the team's impact on the Flights vision and strategy, aligning with Booking's overarching mission.
  • Collaborate closely with other product managers in the Flights Ancillaries domain to ensure a unified strategy across various teams.
  • Conduct user and partner research through diverse methodologies (quantitative, qualitative, market analysis, benchmarking) to identify needs.
  • Oversee data analysis, experimentation, and reporting on product performance to drive enhancements in user experience and business outcomes.
  • Act as the primary contact for the product team regarding information, prioritization of work, and decision-making processes.
  • Select appropriate methodologies for product development based on the product life cycle stage, leveraging knowledge of various product development frameworks.
  • Ensure a high-quality user experience by applying technical insights and understanding potential technical risks.
  • Develop business cases and support business models to articulate the team's impact on the broader organization.
  • Justify technical solutions and bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that development aligns with both immediate and long-term business needs.
  • Work independently while receiving guidance and mentorship from senior product managers.
  • Mentor and lead junior product managers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Engage actively in product networks and the broader craft community, contributing to company-wide initiatives as needed.
  • Demonstrate creativity and curiosity, approaching problem-solving with an innovative mindset.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, effectively conveying both strategic visions and specific details to a range of stakeholders.
  • Showcase analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, diagnose issues, and propose actionable solutions.
  • Possess strong teamwork and collaboration skills, achieving consensus through adaptability and effective communication.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with multiple responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness, aligning product objectives with business goals.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, identifying and analyzing challenges to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Manage projects effectively, creating and leading plans with clear milestones to deliver complex products.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, with a preference for candidates with a background in the Flights or Travel sectors.
  • A proven track record of delivering impactful global e-commerce products.
  • Experience leading complex projects with multiple dependencies.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce optimization and A/B testing methodologies is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Solution-oriented and results-driven mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a flexible, proactive approach.
  • Adept at formulating meaningful business metrics.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Benefits & Perks:

  • 25 days of paid vacation plus public holidays (increasing to 28 days after three years).
  • Health and wellness benefits, including mental health support and access to health insurance.
  • Employer-contributed pension plan.
  • Industry-leading parental and adoption leave policies.
  • Significant discounts on accommodations, car rentals, and other group benefits.
  • Hybrid working model: We encourage office attendance at least 40% of the time while allowing flexibility for optimal work environments.

Inclusion and Diversity:

Inclusion, Diversity, Belonging, Wellbeing, and Volunteering (IDBWV) are integral to our company culture. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the application and interview process, ensuring equitable access to job functions and benefits.

Booking is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.
