As the Resource and Planning Manager for the EUI Portfolio Office, your primary responsibility will be to implement effective resource management practices within the Data and Technology sector. You will oversee the management and optimization of change resources to ensure strategic programs are delivered on time, while also facilitating the adoption of Lean Portfolio Management methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing resource management as a fundamental service within the Portfolio Office.
  • Assessing resource needs, availability, and limitations to create effective allocation strategies.
  • Collaborating with project leaders, department heads, and stakeholders to ascertain resource requirements and project timelines.
  • Formulating and executing resource planning strategies that align with portfolio demands and organizational objectives.
  • Enhancing resource utilization by identifying and addressing conflicts, bottlenecks, or imbalances in resource distribution.
  • Maintaining precise records and documentation of resource allocations.
  • Tracking resource utilization trends and proactively adjusting allocations to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Supervising the implementation and utilization of potential resource management and time tracking systems.
  • Providing expert guidance and support in resource-related issues, including staffing, skill requirements, and resource procurement.
  • Contributing to our transition towards organizational agility and the adoption of Lean Portfolio Management practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in resource management or a similar role, ideally within a project or portfolio-based environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of resource planning, allocation, and optimization principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in resource management software and tools for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on resource utilization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate resource demands and enhance allocation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • A meticulous approach to maintaining accurate resource records and documentation.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • A strategic mindset, capable of proactively implementing resource management strategies that align with organizational goals.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional certification in resource management or project management.
  • Experience with resource management in an IT or Agile delivery context.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Kanban and Scrum.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze resource-related costs and budgets.
