Job Title: RCHW Site Operative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented RCHW Site Operative to join our team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our Recycling Centre Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public, addressing queries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, contributing to a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the site, maintaining a clean and tidy environment, and overseeing waste movements.
  • Assist in providing clear instructions to subcontractors and hauliers, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, record-keeping, and quality assurance, using Microsoft Office software.

Requirements:

  • GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or NVQ level.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with strong administration skills.
  • Good physical health, with the ability to work on foot for extended periods.
  • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent safety accreditation is desirable.
  • Desirable: NPORS or similar Plant Operators Licence/Qualification on Material Handler, with previous experience operating plant machinery preferably within the waste industry.
