Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant Job

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic secondary school in Gateshead. As a 1-1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs, providing targeted support and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Collaborate with teachers to deliver engaging lessons, providing support to students across various subjects.
  • Individualised Learning: Work closely with students who require additional help, offering one-on-one support and tailoring teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Behaviour Management: Contribute to maintaining a positive classroom environment, managing behaviour in line with school policies and fostering a safe and respectful atmosphere for all students.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources, ensuring lessons run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Student Welfare: Support the social and emotional well-being of students, acting as a mentor and providing guidance as needed.
