Job Role: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will be working in a Special School for young people ages 7-19 who have complex learning needs, including Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in educational settings or with children who have special needs. They will be passionate about improving learning opportunities for children and young people, and have the ability to work with a range of children and young people with additional and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teacher with lessons and help pupils with their work
  • Support children on a 1-1 basis and be responsible for behaviour management and providing emotional support
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in educational settings or with children who have special needs
  • Passion for improving learning opportunities for children and young people
  • Ability to work with a range of children and young people with additional and complex needs
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and resilience
