Position: HOLMES Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly competent and seasoned HOLMES Manager to oversee a significant investigation involving interconnected offenses and individuals. This role is a contract position, requiring part-time commitment. The selected candidate will be tasked with establishing and enhancing the HOLMES account for the investigation, managing outputs, and providing training and mentorship to the incident room personnel.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert HOLMES guidance and assistance to the Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) and the broader Major Incident Room (MIR) team.
  • Regularly update and maintain HOLMES policy and procedural documentation, ensuring that access levels and necessary hardware are appropriately configured.
  • Lead and manage the HOLMES team, offering support in welfare, training, and performance management.
  • Work collaboratively with IT support to address system and user challenges, implementing required system enhancements.
  • Ensure the effective functioning of the HOLMES database, including conducting necessary reviews.
  • Identify and propose innovative IT solutions to improve HOLMES functionalities.
  • Act as the organization's representative on HOLMES issues at both regional and national forums, sharing best practices and recognizing development needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in managing extensive HOLMES investigations, ideally involving sensitive information.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HOLMES functionalities and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • Current Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is mandatory.

Contract Information

  • Contract duration: 40 weeks
  • Work schedule: 3 days per week
  • Compensation: £500 per day
