Leader Education is recruiting a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a small SEND school in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis. The school caters to students aged 11-16 years old in Key Stages 3 and 4, specifically supporting those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have been excluded from mainstream education.
We are looking for a compassionate and patient individual who can build trusting relationships with students and staff. The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND or challenging behaviours.
- A strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to the varying needs of the students and the school environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
