About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability Consultant to join our team in Bristol. As a key member of our Smart Energy and Sustainability team, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients achieve their net-zero carbon goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the delivery of BREEAM projects, working closely with senior team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and implement energy strategies, including Part L and LCA assessments, to minimize carbon emissions and improve building performance.
  • Manage your own workload to meet project deadlines, prioritizing tasks and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
  • Review project details and develop targets for sustainability, ensuring alignment with client goals and industry best practices.
  • Communicate sustainability requirements to internal and external team members, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Produce reports providing advice and guidance to clients and project teams, highlighting opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Attend site visits to review progress against sustainability targets, providing expert guidance and support as needed.
  • Review project performance on a monthly basis, updating the team's project tracker with progress information and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing bids and proposals for new work, leveraging your expertise to win new business and grow the team's portfolio.
  • Engage with industry networks to exchange best practices and processes, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in sustainability and energy efficiency.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, sharing your knowledge and expertise to drive team success.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant degree, BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or equivalent/higher.
  • Qualified BREEAM Assessor.
  • Background in building physics/environmental design, environmental science or sustainability related disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of building performance modelling techniques.
  • Knowledge of planning, environmental impact assessments or wider sustainability legislation.
  • Knowledge of or technical ability in building services related disciplines.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • Thorough understanding of the construction industry and built environment.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Client relationship management skills.
  • Part L modelling experience (TAS preferable) and LCA experience (OneClick LCA preferable).
