Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND school in Gateshead. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing individualized attention and care to ensure their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and activities to students with SEND
  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
  • Good knowledge of EHCPs and special educational needs
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships
  • Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
