Lead Teacher of Music

Hays Education is partnering with an Ofsted 'Good' secondary school in Derby to find a dedicated Lead Teacher of Music. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience teaching Music in secondary schools up to GCSE. KS5 experience is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Curriculum Leader to deliver an engaging and ambitious KS3/4 Music curriculum.
  • Assist the curriculum leader in assessing and enhancing teaching and learning standards through lesson observations and constructive feedback.
  • Provide mentorship to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and trainee teachers.
  • Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field.
  • Recent experience teaching Music at secondary school level.
  • Strong behaviour/classroom management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
