About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our innovative and dynamic North Mental Health & Wellness Team in Barking and Dagenham. This multi-disciplinary team provides community-based support for service users living in the borough who have a serious and enduring mental health diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Occupational Therapy provision to a designated caseload, supporting the mental health recovery and engagement of users of service in all aspects of independent living.
  • Assess, plan, and implement a range of therapeutic individual and group work, and complete functional ADL assessments when indicated.
  • Engage in team care planning, risk assessments, duty, and triage tasks as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Qualified and registered Occupational Therapist with evidence of post-registration training and continued CPD.
  • Experience working with adults who have complex mental health needs, including significant experience as a caseworker and CPA Care Co-ordinator.
  • Ability to work under pressure, quickly and effectively, making timely clinical decisions in conjunction with the MDT.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of the team, with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate positive MDT working relationships.
What We Offer

We place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment.

This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
