Job Title: Directorate Manager for Medical Specialties

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Directorate Manager to join our team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a key member of our Senior Management Team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of Medicine and driving performance improvement and patient experience.

About the Role

The Directorate Manager will be responsible for leading Medical Specialties 1, which includes Neurology, Stroke, Diabetes, Endocrine, and Medical Staffing. You will work closely with other Directorates in Specialist Medicine, Medical Specialities 2, and the Renal Directorate to achieve our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve performance and patient experience
  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals to achieve our goals
  • Collaborate with other Directorates to drive innovation and improvement
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement with key stakeholders
  • Manage performance and ensure targets and performance indicators are met
Requirements
  • Masters or equivalent experience at a Senior Management level within the NHS
  • Service Improvement qualification (Bronze)
  • Experience of achievement at senior management level
  • Proven success of supporting complex organisation change
  • Proven track records of meeting significant National targets
