Bonhill Partners is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join their Quant Innovation team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced machine learning models to build a recommender system that enhances our clients' investment decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of machine learning models to build a recommender system for equities and fixed income products, leveraging your expertise in data science and machine learning.
  • Apply state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning to create personalized investment recommendations, driving business growth and revenue.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to develop scalable data pipelines for processing and analyzing large volumes of financial data, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Conduct extensive data analysis to understand patterns, trends, and client behaviors in financial markets, providing actionable insights to inform business decisions.
  • Validate and optimize models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability in real-world scenarios, meeting the evolving needs of our clients.
  • Communicate findings and model performance to stakeholders, including non-technical team members and executive leadership, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, recommender systems, and financial technology to continuously improve the system, driving innovation and excellence.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists and provide technical leadership within the team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data science, with a focus on building and deploying recommender systems or similar machine learning models, driving business outcomes and revenue growth.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn), ensuring efficient model development and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of financial products, particularly equities and fixed income, and experience working with financial data, providing a competitive edge in the market.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools, driving data-driven decision making and business growth.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong desire to innovate and drive the future of financial technology, staying ahead of the curve and meeting evolving client needs.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment.
