Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support for students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met and they have access to a tailored learning environment.
  • Assist teachers with classroom management, maintaining a safe and inclusive learning space for all students.
  • Help develop students' English language skills, using a range of strategies to support their language acquisition.
  • Support students with learning activities, adapting tasks to meet their individual needs and abilities.
  • Work with teachers to develop appropriate learning strategies for students, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEN, building strong relationships and promoting their emotional well-being.
  • Identify and assess individual student needs, working with teachers to create a personalized learning plan.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment, promoting diversity and celebrating individual differences.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children who have SEN, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Experience working with children who have English as an additional language, with a good understanding of language acquisition strategies.
  • A good understanding of different cultures, with the ability to adapt to diverse learning environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Speak an additional language/languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
