Independent Endpoint Evaluator

Independent Endpoint Evaluator - Mammography Specialist
Overview of the Independent Endpoint Evaluator Role:
The introduction of a mandate by the Government necessitates that all apprenticeship programs include an end-point assessment (EPA). This assessment serves as a comprehensive evaluation of the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors (KSBs) acquired throughout the apprenticeship journey. It is essential to ensure that apprentices meet the high standards set by employers and are fully equipped for their respective roles. Pearson is committed to assuring employers that the completion of an apprenticeship signifies that an individual is entirely prepared for employment, with consistent assessments conducted across various apprenticeship providers.
An independent EPA guarantees that those assessing the competency of apprentices have no vested interest in the assessment outcomes. To uphold this independence, an Independent Endpoint Evaluator (IEA) is required to assess only those apprentices with whom they have no conflicts of interest. This stipulation ensures that the IEA is not affiliated with the registered apprenticeship training provider where the apprentice completed their training and has not participated in their on-program training or assessment.
The assessments will be conducted on-site, scheduled in coordination with employers and/or providers as necessary. IEAs will document and submit the outcomes of the EPA, providing clear justifications for their grading decisions. Quality assurance of EPA activities will be overseen by Pearson's quality assurance representatives.
IEAs engaged in this EPA will be qualified assessors who meet the occupational standards relevant to the apprentices they evaluate. They will receive training, standardization, and approval to function as IEAs. The assessments will be conducted in accordance with the relevant apprenticeship assessment plan and the materials provided by Pearson. For further details, please refer to the Key Accountabilities and Person Specification sections below.
