The Christie NHS FT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Gynaecological Oncology to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our cancer services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage patients with gynaecological cancer, including those receiving standard therapy and participating in clinical trials.
- Participate in clinical governance, including maintaining up-to-date protocols and guidelines, and contributing to clinical audit.
- Contribute to research projects and establish new opportunities to expand and develop research within the team.
- Develop and revise evidence-based protocols for patients and undertake administrative duties associated with patient care.
- Maintain a high level of continuing professional development, consistent with the recommendations of the Royal College of Physicians.
- Contribute to the training of junior doctors and other multidisciplinary team members in both in-patient and outpatient departments.
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- GMC registration and entry on the General Medical Council specialist register.
- Wide experience of Oncology, including gynaecological cancer.
- Experience of independently managing Oncology patients, including those with malignant bowel obstruction.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and work under pressure.
