We are looking for a Content Marketing Journalist to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Brand Editorial, you will help us achieve our vision of compelling storytelling, expressed through bold creativity that captivates and inspires. This role is essential for establishing our unified source of exceptional omnichannel creative.

This key position will operate in a hybrid model from our planned locations. The successful candidate will collaborate with some of the most innovative minds in the automotive sector.

This is a unique opportunity to spearhead the development of impactful, contemporary creative, driven by engaging storytelling, while contributing to our world-class internal production capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Story Discovery: Actively seek and uncover significant stories, innovations, and human-interest narratives from various departments and regions within the organization.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the broader Editorial team to convert complex technical information and corporate developments into engaging, accessible content for external audiences, including articles, blog posts, press releases, and social media content.
  • Journalistic Integrity: Uphold the values and perspectives of journalism within our organization, ensuring that our external communications are transparent, accurate, and credible.
  • Relationship Building: Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to access unique stories and insights, while also connecting with external journalists and media outlets to enhance our brand visibility.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Communications team and others to align messaging, coordinate campaigns, and amplify the reach of our storytelling initiatives.
  • Interviews and Research: Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, and industry influencers to gather insights and quotes for content creation.
  • Editorial Support: Provide editorial assistance to various departments, ensuring consistency in messaging, adherence to voice guidelines, and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Content Quality Assurance: Ensure that both internal teams and external partners comply with our editorial standards when producing content. Review and provide feedback to ensure quality.
  • Multichannel Optimization: Tailor our writing style for different channels, including SEO-optimized web content, press releases, and social media communications.
  • Workshops and Training: Facilitate workshops and training sessions to educate and inspire team members on best practices for content creation and adherence to editorial principles.
  • Media Monitoring: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and relevant news stories to inform our content strategy and ensure timely messaging. Track and report on the effectiveness of our editorial efforts, suggesting improvements as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a journalist, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing styles and content types.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to tailor content for various audiences and platforms.
  • Creative thinker capable of adapting writing style to different audiences and channels.
  • Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, standards, and practices.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high editorial standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and cultures.
  • Proficiency in digital media tools and platforms, including content management systems and analytics tools.
  • Passion for automotive technology, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and experience in creating SEO-optimized content.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining editorial guidelines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead workshops and training sessions effectively.
