About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Development Officer to join our team at Platform Rail. As a key member of our education team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering educational programs that connect schools and young people to the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver in-school workshops and assemblies tailored to the needs of students and schools
  • Design, edit, and adjust workshops to ensure they meet the needs of our stakeholders
  • Collaborate with colleagues to embed good practice into our educational programs
  • Use data to inform future actions and improve our educational programs
  • Contribute to risk assessment planning for school trips and workshops
  • Adhere to safety protocols when traveling by train and at stations
  • Communicate with schools and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of our programs
  • Develop and maintain databases to track student engagement and program effectiveness
Requirements
  • Significant experience in delivering primary and/or secondary curriculum-led educational sessions
  • Clear understanding and experience of the education sector
  • Ability to work supportively, empathetically, and flexibly with teachers, school staff, and young people
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and KCSIE 2022
  • Experience of delivering off-site learning and using data to inform future actions
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of MS Office
  • Ability to work as a competent and effective team member, including remote working
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of creating thought-provoking teaching resources
  • Experience of working with learners with additional needs and/or disabilities
  • Knowledge and understanding of pedagogy, successful teaching strategies, and approaches to behavior management
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of £28,000 - £31,750 depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer access to an Employee Assistance Program and a range of benefits.

This is a full-time position with the potential for part-time or term-time only work. We welcome applications from candidates with a range of specialisms, particularly those with a specialism in STEM subjects or creative arts.
