Job Title: Reliability and Safety Technician
Location: Tyne & Wear Washington
Salary: Up to £42,132 commensurate with skills and experience
Role Overview:
The Reliability and Safety Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational integrity and safety of our facilities. This position involves overseeing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize the CMMS for effective maintenance operations.
- Implement and oversee the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) program to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), including tracking and resolving action items.
- Maintain and update all relevant maintenance Safe Systems of Work.
- Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to enhance the performance of machinery and equipment.
- Lead machine reliability enhancement initiatives and mentor site personnel in reliability improvement techniques.
- Analyze maintenance data and KPIs to identify opportunities for increasing plant availability.
- Review and manage critical spare parts inventory based on RCM assessments, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Engage in energy conservation initiatives as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Completion of a Time Served Apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines.
- Thorough understanding of Safe Systems of Work.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
- Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques.
- Experience with RCM and breakdown analysis.
Desirable:
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in an engineering field.
- IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
- Experience with SAP systems.
- Previous experience in team management.

About the Maintenance Team:
The Maintenance team consists of approximately 40 members, fostering a close-knit environment. This newly established role will lead the development of the Continuous Improvement and reliability aspects of the team, collaborating with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.
