About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) team at Shared Services Partnership. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of vulnerable children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with solicitors and the Home Office to expedite immigration claims for young people in our care.
  • Ensure statutory processes are fulfilled, including assessment, care planning, protection, and safeguarding.
  • Take responsibility for allocating social work provision to newly referred cases and provide comprehensive support and care plans.
  • Offer signposting to mental health and counselling services as needed.
  • Liaise with placement providers to ensure the quality of provision and plan suitable housing solutions for young people.
  • Assist clients in integrating into life in the UK and navigating cultural differences.
  • Carry out safeguarding procedures for those at risk of exploitation or suspected of being trafficked.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Well-developed experience of working with vulnerable children and families according to statutory guidance.
  • Ability to assess and engage with families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Experience of needs-led planning and reviews for children who require help, protection, and care.
  • Ability to work with young people who have challenging behaviors and underlying vulnerabilities.
  • Some experience of financial management and budgeting.
