Apprentice Claims Handler Opportunity

Our client, a leading Lloyds Insurance Broker, is seeking an Apprentice Claims Handler to join their growing Claims Division in London.

The successful candidate will gain a comprehensive understanding of the claims handling process, from first notification of loss to final settlement and closure of the file.

This role will provide exposure to marine and non-marine classes of insurance, as well as the use of in-house and external market systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Create new claim records within the internal system
  • Update financial records on relevant systems
  • Support claims brokers with presenting claims to markets
  • Liaise with TPAs, adjusters, and lawyers on claims
  • Liaise with colleagues and insurers on claims
  • Attend client and market meetings with brokers, as required
  • Draft and send standard correspondence
  • Draft and send non-standard correspondence, under supervision
  • Answer the telephone and ensure accurate recording of information
  • Make written records of conversations with clients and insurers
  • Arrange payments and liaise with IBA colleagues, as instructed
  • Ensure compliance with the firm's systems and procedures
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • On-target or completed 3 A-Levels or equivalent (Grade C or above)
  • At least 5 GCSES (Grade C or above)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to work within a team or individually
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
