Mental Health Nurse for Learning Disabilities

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to work in a dynamic environment and make a real difference in the lives of patients.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver individualized care to patients, tailoring care plans to meet their unique needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated patient care and achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical governance standards to maintain the highest standards of care.
- Prioritize and delegate nursing duties within the shift, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
- Address and report concerns about patient well-being, incidents, or staffing issues promptly and effectively.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to meet revalidation requirements and stay current in practice.
- Support and mentor new, junior, and agency staff, ensuring they adhere to care standards and complete their induction.
- Complete all mandatory training and competency assessments on time and participate in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice.
- Be aware of and follow safeguarding policies and procedures, attending required training to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act, Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
- Follow company policies on medicines management and handle challenging behaviour according to company policies, supporting junior staff and developing de-escalation strategies.
- Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse with 6-12 months of post-registration experience and active NMC registration.
- Knowledgeable about NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional development since registration.
- Capable of developing and employing flexible, innovative approaches to clinical practice.
