Procurement and Supply Chain Executive

Northern Trains is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Procurement and Supply Chain leader to join our team. As Head of Procurement and Supply Chain, you will play a critical role in managing our procurement and supply chain operations, with an annual spend of around £800m.
Key Responsibilities:- Define and implement a procurement and supply chain strategy that supports Northern Trains' business objectives.
- Lead procurement operations, including the negotiation and renewal of major contracts.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive contract management framework.
- Maintain strict adherence to public procurement regulations and Northern Trains' internal policies.
- Lead efforts to continuously improve supply chain efficiency.
- Manage and mentor a team of 25 procurement professionals.
- Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent.
- Substantial experience in a senior procurement role, with a proven ability to manage large budgets and deliver cost-saving programmes in both public and private sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of UK procurement legislation, contract management, and supplier performance management.
- Advanced IT skills, including proficiency in procurement software, e-tendering, and contract management systems.
