Vacancy for Project Archivist at University of Bristol

We are seeking an experienced archivist to support the development and care of the Hong Kong Historical Archives.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Hong Kong History Centre to create detailed catalogues for complex mixed media archives, ensuring professional standards and ethics are complied with throughout all processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cataloguing protocols for the Hong Kong Historical Archives
  • Supervise the work of the Digital Archive Assistant and liaise with rights holders
  • Carry out due diligence for orphan works and establish protocols for access to the archives
  • Support research and public engagement activities in liaison with the Hong Kong History Centre
Requirements

We are looking for an archivist with a strong interest in the history of Hong Kong and a keenness to work closely with an academic Research Centre to develop, care for, and make accessible a new archive collection.

The ideal candidate will have experience in cataloguing, preservation, and access, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
