Job Overview

Vermelo RPO is seeking a highly skilled Technical Pricing Manager to lead our technical pricing strategy for delegated authority insurance products. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate risk pricing, maintaining a balance between model refreshes and sophistication, and setting our long-term strategy for risk pricing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, build, monitor, and develop risk pricing models while leading a team of analysts. Your role is critical in driving profitable growth for our business and our capacity partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain risk pricing models across all product lines, ensuring a strong balance between accuracy and interpretability.
  2. Contribute to the development of model monitoring frameworks, ensuring ongoing updates to risk models continue at an appropriate frequency to maintain accuracy.
  3. Deliver commercial objectives by efficiently building and maintaining risk pricing models to achieve profitable growth.
  4. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, serving as the technical pricing expert across each product line.
  5. Support key projects across the business as a pricing SME, owning workstreams and deliverables end-to-end.
  6. Collaborate with the Portfolio Management and Underwriting teams on risk appetite, product development, and innovation to ensure pricing models have the appropriate level of expert input.
  7. Manage and develop the team.
  8. Collaborate with peers in pricing, underwriting, and data science.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive knowledge of predictive modeling techniques, including GLM and GBM, and/or ML techniques.
  2. Significant experience using WTW Emblem and Radar software, including the build and development of Radar models.
  3. Advanced knowledge of UK Personal Lines Insurance markets.
  4. Proven track record of embracing and thriving in a fast-paced environment of constant change.
  5. Previous personal lines pricing experience in the UK.
  6. Previous experience managing a pricing and/or analytical team.
  7. Proficient at communicating results in a concise manner both verbally and in writing.
