Senior Rhinology Surgical Fellow
We invite applications for the role of Senior Rhinology Surgical Fellow within the ENT Surgery department. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in advanced training at the ST8 level, focusing on the intricate field of Rhinology. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a team of seasoned consultants, enhancing their surgical expertise to achieve proficiency suitable for independent practice as a consultant in Rhinology.
Key Responsibilities
The Fellow will serve as a vital member of the ENT department, receiving extensive training in all facets of Rhinology. This program is structured to cultivate skills necessary for independent practice as a Rhinology Consultant.
The role encompasses the following responsibilities:
- Active participation in clinical duties, including the management of clinics and surgical lists.
- Coverage of clinical and theatre sessions during consultant absences.
- Engagement in a 1 in 7 on-call rota, providing support for emergency cases and supervising junior medical staff.
- Involvement in departmental meetings, research initiatives, and quality audits.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Full GMC registration with a Licence to practice.
- Postgraduate FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent qualification.
Experience
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of five years as a Type 1 (NTN/VTN) Specialist Registrar in ENT or equivalent experience.
Personal Attributes
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated commitment to a specialized interest in Rhinology.
- Willingness to undertake minor managerial responsibilities, such as rota organization.
- Strong interest in teaching and training junior colleagues.
