Housing Project Manager Role

Reed is supporting a local authority with their recruitment to a Housing Project Manager position.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering new affordable housing within the council's borough, with ambitious plans already progressing. The council is looking for an exceptional individual to help deliver these housing projects, ranging from small-scale redevelopments to large-scale mixed tenure housing developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new development opportunities and conduct feasibility studies and option appraisals for housing development projects.
  • Prepare and submit funding applications to support housing development projects.
  • Establish project programmes, prepare and maintain project plans, ensuring projects are completed within budget, to agreed timescales, and risks are effectively managed.
  • Commission and manage consultants and contractors.
  • Represent the organisation at site/construction and stakeholder meetings, maintaining good working relationships with local stakeholders and funders.
  • Ensure that housing projects support the council's priorities and embed social value into contracts.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing housing development projects, ideally via the public sector.
  • Ability to identify and assess development opportunities and experience in assembling and managing sites for development.
  • Skilled in preparing funding applications and developing project budgets.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations and client obligations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
