About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in delivering engineering projects across our range of services. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding and mentoring the engineering team, providing technical expertise, and ensuring compliance with technical, company, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engineering team in delivering engineering projects and activities, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget compliance.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve engineering processes and procedures, ensuring continual improvement and excellence.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Business Development Manager to identify and pursue new opportunities.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients, vendors, and third-party contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Review and approve engineering analyses, calculations, and deliverables prepared by the engineering team.
- Carry out engineering activities such as mooring system design, structural analysis, and design anchor handling analysis, riser analysis, installation analysis, diffraction analysis, fatigue analysis, etc.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in industry codes and standards on mooring systems design.
- Quality assure work performed by the engineering team, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Degree (2.1) in a relevant engineering discipline (Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in the offshore energy industry.
- Advanced knowledge of the following topics and related industry codes and standards:
- Design and operation of offshore mooring systems.
- Marine operations including moorings/risers/subsea infrastructure installation and marine transportations.
- Dynamics of vessels, floating offshore platforms, moorings, and/or subsea risers.
- Structural analysis and design for ships and offshore structures.
- Project management experience including tendering, financial, scheduling, and creating deliverables.
- Experience in leading a team and guiding team members.
- Good commercial awareness.
- Advanced user of the following engineering software packages, including creation and reviewing of models:
- Mooring analysis software (such as Gmoor32).
- Marine dynamics software (such as Orcaflex).
- Competent user of the following engineering software packages, including creation and reviewing of models:
- Hydrodynamic analysis software (such as Ansys Aqwa).
- Structural analysis software (such as Strand7/ANSYS).
- Computer-aided design and drafting software (2D or 3D).
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel internationally and offshore.
- Offshore Survival Training & Medicals.
