About The Role

Morrison Energy Services is seeking a highly skilled Lead Design Engineer to join our OHL Design team, supporting the MESTN Construction business.

We are looking for a seasoned professional who can lead, coordinate, and produce design engineering solutions to support MESTN OHL and Substation construction projects. As the Lead Design Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day overhead line design activities, collaborating closely with the Design Manager.
  • Act as a project lead and senior design resource, delivering high-quality design outputs when required.
  • Stay up-to-date with National Grid, SPEN, ENA, and other relevant industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain design processes, policies, and training manuals.
  • Liaise regularly with engineers and technicians to maximize productivity.
  • Review, develop, and train engineering staff.
  • Provide technical advice and support to Babcock personnel and clients.
  • Regularly review resource levels, reporting deficiencies and potential solutions to the Design Manager.
