About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Professional Indemnity Lawyer to join our in-house team in either our London or Manchester office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a case load of interesting and challenging claims, working with our customers, internal partners, and external vendors to deliver great customer experiences and optimal outcomes.
  • Investigate claims, develop claim strategy, and set reserves.
  • Provide legal assistance to our insureds, working with them to develop an appropriate strategy for an optimal outcome.
  • Negotiate settlement of claims.
  • Work as part of a supportive, collaborative, and high-performing team, providing support as required by other members of the team and fully participating in individual and shared project work.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization, including underwriters, risk management, and actuarial, to facilitate a collaborative approach to creating solutions and optimal outcomes.

Requirements

  • Thorough experience and sound judgment handling Financial lines of business with a strong emphasis on Solicitors professional negligence claims.
  • Thorough technical expertise with a proven track record managing key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business, and mitigating risks and exposures.
  • Intermediate strategic planning.
  • Legal Degree / LLB (or equivalent) is required.
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
