We are seeking skilled Setter Technicians/Operators for our manufacturing facility, operating on a continuous shift schedule.
Position Summary:
As a Setter Technician, you will report directly to the Shift Manager and be tasked with the setup and operation of thermoforming or injection moulding machinery equipped with IML Automation. Your primary objective will be to ensure optimal machine performance, uphold quality standards, and fulfill customer requirements in accordance with industry guidelines.
Key Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate Illig and Keifel thermoformers or IML machinery, including robotic systems.
- Provide training and oversight to machine packers, resolving any operational issues in collaboration with management.
- Conduct product changeovers, setups, and run established tooling to achieve production goals.
- Quickly diagnose and rectify machine malfunctions.
- Communicate operational progress and challenges to the Shift Manager/Process Engineer.
- Ensure seamless machine transitions between shifts.
- Accurately document and manage scrap, downtime, and other pertinent metrics.
- Maintain machine efficiency, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Engage in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Competent in using computer systems for data management and various measuring instruments.
- Organized and methodical approach to tasks with strong time management abilities.
- Adaptable and eager to learn new skills while embracing ongoing improvement.

Compensation Structure:
- Competitive pay based on experience:
- Level 1: £11.50/hour (£25,116 annually)
- Level 2: £12.60/hour (£27,518 annually)
- Level 3: £13.60/hour (£29,702 annually)
- Overtime compensation at 1.25 times the hourly rate.
Work Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7 AM – 7 PM and 7 PM – 7 AM, following a rotating pattern of 3 on, 3 off.
Employee Benefits:
- 24 days of annual leave, including public holidays.
- After 3 months: Enrollment in a pension plan (5% employee contribution, 3% employer contribution).
