About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our Energy Water and Resources engineering team at Arup. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering technical excellence and providing outstanding service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical design of civil structural elements, including hydraulic structures, dams, and water schemes/frameworks, with a focus on energy projects.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex engineering problems, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our services and deliver exceptional results.
Requirements
  • MEng or MSc level in Civil Engineering or a related subject, with Chartered Civil Engineer or Chartered Structural Engineer status.
  • Relevant experience in the technical design of civil structural elements, with a preference for energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical and hydraulic design standards, including dynamic loading of structures.
  • Proficiency in structural design software, including finite element analysis of concrete structures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
