Consultant Haematologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Haematologist to join our dynamic team at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients with blood disorders in the South West.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to high-quality, evidence-based services for inpatients, outpatients, and day care, providing specialist advice and a referral service for other clinicians in the Trust.
- Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients and the running of clinics or departments.
- Help provide triaging/vetting of referrals and advice and guidance to local GPs.
- Participate in the consultant on-call rota and provide cover for colleagues in time of absence and leave when required.
- Leadership, development, and organisation of the services in the charge of the post holder in line with the Trust/Divisional business plans.
We are looking for a Consultant Haematologist with a broad knowledge of Haematology and a strong track record of delivering high-quality patient care. Essential criteria include:
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register with UK CCT in Haematology (or equivalent training & experience) or eligible for registration within 6 months of interview.
Desirable criteria include a higher academic qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD) and experience in a similar role.

The Department of Haematology is based at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust, in the Pathology Sciences and Brunel Buildings. We provide services for the local population of 500,000 and support regional or supraregional services for some subspecialties in NBT, including diagnostic services in the Bristol Haemato-Oncology Diagnostic Service SIHMDS.
