Payroll Officer

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our team at NISI. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for multiple organisations, ensuring compliance with HR policies, service standards, and performance requirements.
- Manage and administer statutory and occupational schemes of leave, including sickness, accidents, maternity, and paternity.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and controls, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Respond to external and internal enquiries related to the payroll service, providing timely and accurate information.
- Ensure deductions from salaries are made in accordance with employee and other instructions, complying with financial regulations and HMRC requirements.
- Provide resilience across the service for cover when required, ensuring continuity of payroll operations.
Requirements:
- Experience of payroll processing and recognised payroll qualification.
- Up-to-date knowledge and experience of HMRC requirements, including Tax, NI, SMP, SSP, and RTI reporting.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, with ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, including employees, managers, and councillors.
- Flexible approach to duties and hours, with ability to work in a small team without supervision.
