About the Position

The National Physical Laboratory is seeking a dedicated Service Transition Analyst for a permanent role. This position is pivotal in facilitating the transition of IT solutions and services into operational frameworks. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for a seamless transition from project teams to operational teams.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the service transition process for both new and modified services into operational environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams and operational support units to ensure readiness within the CIO department, facilitating the transition and handover of production deployments into the relevant NPL IT support structures.
  • Act as the main point of contact between project teams and IT departments regarding Service Transition activities, ensuring that all stakeholders are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Conduct change impact assessments and develop operational readiness plans for the CIO Department concerning new services and the ongoing enhancement of existing services.
  • Work closely with the CIO leadership team to define the service design and support model for new and updated services, ensuring they are effectively managed and improved to meet NPL's future needs.
  • Ensure that all required third-party support agreements are established for new and updated services, aligning SLAs and supplier management roles with operational requirements.
  • Guarantee that the Service Transition Framework is in sync with project activities and that deliverables are met within the defined parameters of time, cost, quality, and scope.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational delivery efficiency, managing risks and issues related to service transition.
  • Uphold a commitment to Health & Safety, ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others, while adhering to all relevant guidelines.
