Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with suppliers to acquire educational resources and materials
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to develop and manage curriculum resources
  • Evaluating educational materials for suitability and quality
  • Managing library collections and resources
  • Developing and implementing library policies and procedures
  • Creating an inclusive and welcoming library environment
  • Leading and managing student induction programs
  • Planning and delivering library lessons and workshops
  • Researching and providing resources for curriculum use
  • Organizing author visits and library events
  • Overseeing the use of library technology and equipment
  • Managing the library homework club and book club
  • Training and managing student librarians
  • Conducting annual surveys and feedback sessions with students
  • Producing regular newsletters and updates for staff and students
Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Experience working in a school library or educational setting
  • In-depth knowledge of children's and young adult literature
  • Relevant qualifications and further training
  • Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing situations
  • Sound knowledge of management information systems
