Position Overview

We are pleased to present openings for Psychological Support Assistant roles within our Intensive Case Management in Psychosis teams, located in the South East London area. These positions are integral to our multidisciplinary approach in providing comprehensive mental health care.

We seek individuals who possess an undergraduate degree in psychology and have practical experience in mental health environments. A genuine interest in enhancing the psychological well-being of clients experiencing psychosis and their families is essential.

The successful candidates will collaborate with our established team of qualified psychologists and psychological therapists, gaining valuable experience in the evaluation and delivery of psychological services.

Key Responsibilities

The selected individuals will play a vital role in supporting the assessment and enhancement of interventions within the team, including family-focused approaches, group activities, and brief psychological support across our service areas. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the formulation and execution of care strategies involving psychological treatment and management of client issues, under the guidance of a licensed psychologist.
  • Coordinating and facilitating therapeutic group sessions.
  • Contributing to the development of a psychologically informed framework of care for all service users.

Professional Development

The role includes receiving regular supervision in line with professional standards, enhancing skills relevant to current responsibilities, and aiding in the training of other staff and volunteers in service evaluation and development.

Service Improvement

Responsibilities also encompass assisting in the design and execution of service enhancement initiatives, participating in meetings focused on service development.

Research and Evaluation

Candidates will assist in the planning and implementation of audit and research projects, including data collection and analysis, report generation, and literature reviews to support evidence-based practices.

General Duties

The role requires maintaining high professional standards, engaging in continuous professional development, ensuring meticulous clinical record-keeping, and effective communication with clients and colleagues.

Essential Qualifications

Clinical Experience

  • Proven experience working with individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team settings.

Academic Background

  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Psychology recognized by the British Psychological Society.

  • Resilience to work in emotionally charged environments.
