About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Nurse to join our dynamic team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our Children and Young Person's Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our young patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop care plans for individual children and young people, ensuring their needs are met and their families are supported.
  • Carry out nursing procedures and techniques in accordance with established policies and standards, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with medical and nursing staff, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in paediatric care, applying your knowledge and skills to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Child Branch with a Diploma or Degree in Paediatric Nursing.
  • Ability to administer oral and intravenous medications.
  • Minimum 6 months post-registration experience, with a strong track record of supervising non-registered staff and students.

  • Continuing Professional Development/Reflective Profile.
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification.
  • Mentoring Course.
  • Completion of local competency packages.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing workload.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
