Technical Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Assurance Manager to join our Assurance, Quality & Compliance team. The successful candidate will lead on technical assurance activities and support related activities such as Configuration and Technical Change Management, process development and improvements, attending sub-contractor kick off meetings and carrying out Technical Assurance reviews as necessary to support Contractor self-certification for client sign off of works.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on technical assurance activities and support related activities
  • Agree acceptance criteria with HS2 colleagues
  • Plan the assurance and certification strategy for Design, Construction, Testing & Commissioning and Handover
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of the technical assurance strategy, processes and systems
  • Undertake activities as defined in the project Plans and Procedures
  • Deliver technical assurance communications
  • Understand and implement Client and Joint Venture Partners' Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes and statutory requirements
Requirements:
  • Chartered Engineer or significant experience of working at equivalent level in a project environment
  • Experienced in the application of system engineering principles and or assurance processes in civil engineering/construction projects
  • Knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment and statutory obligations relating to major rail infrastructure / construction projects or equivalent
  • Capable of working collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, management and the project leadership, clients, sub contractors, regulatory bodies and other stakeholders
  • Able to show resilience and tenacity whilst remaining adaptable and flexible when working under the pressure of tight deadlines and project change
  • Awareness of the various disciplines involved in delivering major projects, their roles and responsibilities and their relationship to assurance
  • Good information management and analytical skills
  • Experienced in the use project information tools and management systems
About the Role:

The role will work on the HS2 project, which is the UK's new high speed rail network. The Skanska | Costain | STRABAG (SCS JV) is delivering the HS2 London Tunnels Contract. As a Technical Assurance Manager, you will be a welcomed member of the wider team, with opportunities to take on additional responsibility, join one of our networks for women, military or LGBT+ staff, and participate in cultural and social events with the local community.
