Technical Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Assurance Manager to join our Assurance, Quality & Compliance team. The successful candidate will lead on technical assurance activities and support related activities such as Configuration and Technical Change Management, process development and improvements.

- Support the Head of Technical Assurance in the development and implementation of the Technical Assurance Strategy, plans, processes, and systems within the project.
- Contribute to the continued improvement of the technical assurance strategy, processes, and systems for Design, Construction, Testing & Commissioning, and Handover in collaboration with delivery teams, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and the employer.
- Undertake activities as defined in the project Plans and Procedures in liaison with those delivering the works.
- Deliver technical assurance communications such as staff briefings and technical assurance awareness training.
- Chartered Engineer or significant experience of working at equivalent level in a project environment.
- Experienced in the application of system engineering principles and/or assurance processes in civil engineering/construction projects.
- Knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment and statutory obligations relating to major rail infrastructure/construction projects or equivalent.
- Capable of working collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, management and the project leadership, clients, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Able to show resilience and tenacity whilst remaining adaptable and flexible when working under the pressure of tight deadlines and project change.
- Awareness of the various disciplines involved in delivering major projects, their roles and responsibilities, and their relationship to assurance.
- Good information management and analytical skills, able to quickly and efficiently seek out the relevant and pertinent points from large volumes of project information.
The role will work on the HS2 project, a high-speed rail network that will connect 8 out of the UK's 10 biggest cities with fast, reliable, and frequent high-speed services.
