About the Role

Cepheid, a leading provider of diagnostic solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join its EMEA team. As a key member of the Legal and Compliance Department, you will provide expert legal advice and guidance to support the company's growth and success in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including supply and services contracts, with public authorities, private partners, and government agencies across EMEA.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local leadership and strategic partners, advising on prioritized projects and risks, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Advise on Quality and Regulatory Affairs, privacy matters, and resolve disputes with third parties, including the selection and management of outside counsel.
  • Support the Cepheid Compliance Program, implementing policies and procedures, providing training to stakeholders, and conducting internal investigations.
Requirements
  • Qualified to practice law in England.
  • 7 or more years of legal practice, including public procurement agreements and healthcare industry experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal audiences.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with geographically dispersed teams and traveling occasionally as needed.
  • Commitment to acting with integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project management skills, including driving and prioritizing multiple concurrent projects and regular reporting on progress.
  • Demonstrated mental agility, with the ability to learn substantive areas of law and anticipate business needs.
  • Experience in sharing and promoting new legal and regulatory information, such as through communications and training.
