We are partnering with a Local Authority in Lewisham to support the appointment of a Reviews Coordinator on a 3-month contract, with a high likelihood of extension. If you're interested, please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To promote a housing options approach to service delivery, maximizing homelessness prevention and effective solutions to meet housing needs.
  • To thoroughly investigate complaints from MPs, elected members, and senior managers, and conduct interviews and home visits as necessary.
  • To collaborate closely with the Council's Legal Department to provide instructions, agree decisions, discuss matters of law, and request counsel's advice.
  • To handle requests for information under the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act, and be aware of the requirements of the legislation and Lewisham's practice.
  • To input data, make detailed case notes, and update progress on reviews on all IT systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience of managing a caseload.
  • Experience of undertaking statutory homelessness and reviews of decisions under the Housing Act.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public in stressful situations.
  • Experience of achieving performance targets and departmental objectives.
  • Experience of training, supporting, and mentoring staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex legislation.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a pressurized environment.
